Art Newman's clients get his four decades of insurance experience on their side of the table when dealing with brokers and insurance carriers.

Art has a high profile among insurance professionals in Southern California. He entered the industry in 1963 as an agent of Travelers and within two years bought Associated Insurance Counselors and began growing it into one of the largest writers of marine-related insurance in the state.

Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, Associated became Wellington Agencies, known for strong relationships with clients and insurance carriers alike. Wellington pioneered specialized insurance programs for a number of industries, including apparel makers, printers, manufacturers, and distributors.

Through another series of mergers, in the early 1990s Wellington became American Business Insurance, which in turn subsequently became Acordia Insurance, a unit of Wells Fargo, for which Art served as senior vice president in recent years.

Now principal of Newman Associates, Art brings a unique depth of experience to bear on the challenges his business clients face in dealing with their brokers and insurance carriers, offering them a better way to buy insurance.
